Corporate HQ Expansion
Engagement Overview:
ARAMARK Uniform and Career Services engaged a Bedford consultant to negotiate the incentives and credits for the expansion of its Lexington, Kentucky corporate headquarters. Total planned expansion entailed 107 new positions. Total expansion costs were estimated at $2,740,000.
About The Client
Galls, an ARAMARK company, is one of America’s largest mail-order suppliers of uniforms and equipment in the public safety industry. Catering to the special needs of people involved in public safety, fire fighting, correctional and emergency medical services, Galls focuses on quality products, friendly service and efficient shipping times.
Bedford GAIN Services
Bedford’s consultants worked with state and local officials to identify alternative incentives and credits scenarios and to position the company correctly for incentives negotiation. Bedford then prepared necessary application, using information supplied by Galls and conducted high-level meetings with state and local officials to apprise them of the expansion project as well as the need for assistance. Once these meetings were completed, Bedford’s consultants worked with state and local officials and legal counsel to coordinate the assembly of materials necessary to obtain a unanimous approval of state and local incentives.
Estimate of Benefits & Savings:
- Bedford consultants were successful in negotiating refundable state tax credit incentives under the Kentucky Jobs Development Program equal to $1.37 million or 50 % of the contemplated capital investment.
Actual Client Savings:
Total refundable tax credits provided to Galls by the State of Kentucky: $1,370,000
